The process
what made us different & perfect.
1. Call Us To Discuss
A Simple First Chat
What We Cover in Your First Call
Our first phone chat is simple and obligation-free. We’ll:
Review your recent power bills and energy use.
Talk through your goals — whether it’s lowering household bills, adding blackout protection, preparing for EV charging, or helping your business manage demand and reduce overheads.
Give you a sense of the typical investment range for systems like yours.
Explain how the federal and state rebates apply to your situation.
From there, if it looks like the right fit, we’ll arrange a site visit to inspect your roof, switchboard, and layout in detail before preparing a tailored proposal.
2. On Site Visit
We Take Time To Understand Your Needs.
What We Do on a Site Visit
After our first call, we’ll visit your property to:
Inspect the roof, shading, and orientation for panel placement.
Check the switchboard and wiring for battery and solar readiness.
Look at the best locations for inverters and batteries, including backup needs.
Discuss your future plans like EV charging or business load management.
In some cases, a second visit is needed for detailed roof or switchboard checks. From there, we prepare a clear, tailored proposal showing how the system will work for your home or business.
3. We Send Your Proposal
“Your Proposal, Your Pace”
What Happens After We Send Your Proposal
Once you’ve received your tailored proposal, we’ll:
Walk you through the design, rebates, and expected savings.
Answer your questions and make adjustments if needed — whether that’s battery size, panel layout, or future upgrade options.
Give you time to review everything at your own pace, with no pressure to commit straight away.
When you’re ready, we’ll finalise the paperwork — including rebate applications and grid approvals — and then lock in an installation date that works for you.
From there, our local team takes care of everything, making the process smooth from proposal to installation and beyond.
4. Installation & Afterwards
From setup to long-term care
From Installation to Long-Term Care
On installation day, our team ensures everything is completed safely, neatly, and to the highest standard. Once the system is in place, we:
Arrange the mandatory inspections and grid approvals.
Provide a clear handover, showing you how to use the monitoring app or inverter portal.
Handle all the rebate paperwork so it’s stress-free for you.
Recommend simple servicing checks every few years to keep your system running at its best.
Even after installation, we remain your local point of contact for support, advice, and future upgrades.
CS Solar – Solar & Battery Estimator
Quick, ballpark estimates to help you size a system. Final STCs and performance depend on the approved battery model, install details, and site design.
Amount of support according to system size
From 1 May 2026, the STC factor will taper according to the amount of capacity installed:
- From 0 kWh up to 14 kWh (inclusive): STC factor applied at 100%.
- Every kWh greater than 14 and up to 28 kWh (inclusive): STC factor applied at 60%.
- Every kWh greater than 28 and up to 50 kWh (inclusive): STC factor applied at 15%.
Detailed information on these adjustments can be found on the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water’s website.

Common Faq
most questions ask?
From 2025, the Federal Government has extended the Small-scale Technology Certificates (STC) program to include eligible battery installations. Just like with solar panels, you receive an upfront discount applied at the time of install. The number of certificates depends on your battery size and your postcode (zone), meaning homes in Melbourne’s east — such as Croydon, Lilydale, Mooroolbark, Ringwood, and Kilsyth — can benefit immediately without waiting for a tax return or rebate claim.
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer, but at CS Solar we only recommend trusted and proven brands:
BYD Battery-Box – flexible, modular design, excellent with Fronius inverters.
Fronius Energy Storage & Fronius Reserva – built for seamless integration with Fronius GEN24.
Tesla Powerwall – simple all-in-one option with sleek monitoring.
We also keep a close eye on newer players like Sigenergy, but we don’t install emerging products until they’ve proven themselves in real Australian conditions — protecting our customers from future headaches.
Payback time depends on your usage and tariff. For most homes in Melbourne’s outer east — where daily usage averages 20–30 kWh — batteries typically pay for themselves in 8-12 years. Households that take advantage of off-peak charging or use retailers like Amber Electric (with spot-price power) can see even faster returns. Adding a battery also improves your home’s resilience during power outages, which adds non-financial value for many families.
Yes. Many households now use their battery like an energy “toolbox.” With off-peak or flexible tariffs, you can charge your battery when power is cheapest (overnight or during negative spot prices with Amber) and then use it during the day when grid power is most expensive. This makes a battery useful even on cloudy winter days when solar alone isn’t enough.
Not all batteries automatically provide backup. At CS Solar, we design systems that can supply essential loads (like lights, fridge, Wi-Fi, and medical equipment) or full-home backup depending on your needs and budget. In suburbs like Lilydale, Healesville, and Yarra Glen, where storms and outages are more common, many customers choose to size their system with blackout protection in mind.
Yes — especially with the new federal and state incentives now in place. A battery helps you store and use more of your own solar power, reducing reliance on the grid and protecting against rising electricity costs. In areas like Ringwood, Mooroolbark, and Kilsyth, where households often use more power in the evenings, batteries maximise solar savings and future-proof your home.
Residential Solar & Batteries
At CS Solar Victoria, we believe solar should be simple, reliable, and built to last. As a family-run business based in Melbourne’s outer east, we’ve helped households in Croydon, Mooroolbark, Lilydale, Ringwood, and Kilsyth cut bills and take control of their energy.
Residential solar is about more than panels — it’s about creating a home that’s future-ready. With the new Federal STC battery incentives and Solar Victoria rebates, adding storage has never been more affordable. A battery lets you store your solar during the day, use it at night, and even take advantage of cheap off-peak tariffs or spot-price retailers like Amber.
We only install trusted brands like BYD, Fronius, Fronius Reserva, and Tesla, so your investment is secure. And because we’re local, our support doesn’t stop after installation — we’re just around the corner when you need us.
For us, it’s about honesty, dependability, and building systems that serve you today while preparing you for tomorrow.
Commercial Solar & Batteries
Rising energy costs are a major challenge for businesses across Melbourne’s east — from Ringwood and Croydon to Lilydale and Healesville. At CS Solar Victoria, we design commercial solar and battery systems that reduce overheads and protect against future price shocks.
With the federal STC battery incentive now available, businesses can lower the upfront cost of storage and see faster returns. Batteries also help manage peak demand charges, shift loads to cheaper times, and keep operations running when the grid is unreliable.
We only recommend proven, bankable brands — Fronius, BYD, Tesla, Fronius Reserva, GenZ, PowerPlus, and Selectronic — ensuring every system is robust, scalable, and supported long-term. Whether it’s a warehouse, retail site, or office building, our team tailors each design to maximise savings and reliability.
Our proposals are clear, with rebates and ROI calculations shown upfront, so you can make confident decisions. And as a local, family-run business, our values are simple: trust, reliability, and long-term support. We understand the pressures businesses face and deliver systems designed for both immediate savings and future growth.
